Canada Goose uses proprietary blends of premium down which have been developed through 50 years of experience. Canada Goose uses three custom blends of down, where the blend is a percentage of down versus feathers: 750 fill power Canadian Hutterite white duck down (90/10 blend), 675 fill power Canadian white goose down (80/20 blend) and 625 fill power Canadian white duck down (80.20 blend). Canada Goose does NOT use any down from live-plucking. Columbia makes some nice jackets including ones just like this one except the for the material that the hand warmer pockets are made from. In this model it catches and snags on every microscopic irregularity in the surface of your hands. Your hands might feel smooth but in the pockets you'll feel like they are made of sand paper. Most Columbia products that use this kind of material use a brushed version that feels comfortable.

If you plan to keep your hands out of the pockets, then this jacket might suit you for lightweight warmth in mildly cool weather. If you think you might put your hands in the pockets, the look for the item in a store so you can test the comfort of the pockets.
Another customer noticed that the pocket material appeared to be the same as columbia normally uses but was sewn inside out, making the annoying side face the inside of the pockets. That would make these seconds/irregulars, in which case they should be presented as such.

I just got this jacket, have had it out in early New England cold weather and am completely satisfied. It's a perfect piece of active wear - meaning it's probably not the best choice for ice fishing, but it'll keep you nice and toasty if you're moving around outdoors in low temps. I think this will work all winter for me depending on layering. The hood is really nice too.The duck canvas has been water repellent but I'm definitely going to spray it down with waterproofing spray.

The sizing seems consistent with 2 other Carhartt jackets I have - I'm 5-10/175 and L fits perfectly with room for a sweater or sweatshirt underneath. It fits fine with just a shirt too - more room but not too much.

The color is serious high-vis orange which makes it a must-have if you're working/walking near traffic or out in the woods during hunting season.
